There’s nothing better than visitors sharing your blog posts with the world and I’m doing what I can to make it easier for them to do just that! Every KBK Connect blog has a footer toolbar that is always present as visitors navigate through your content. I have updated the footer toolbar to include some new goodies that will hopefully make visitors more share-happy.

Always Been There

The following apps have always been present on the toolbar…

Search – Visitors can search the entire KBKc network from any page. Results are shown as an overlay (like a pop-up), so visitors aren’t taken away from their current page.

Smart Share – Helping your visitors share your content everywhere. The Smart Share app automatically optimizes itself for each person who visits your blog. Every person shares differently, so the app custom fits each user with the services they’ll normally use (from 230+ services). For example, if a user shares to Facebook and Amazon Wishlist, they will be presented with those first. This logic ensures that your content is always one click away, because the right service is always tailored to the right person.

The Smart Share app automatically detects images on your websites and enables visitors to share directly by clicking on the image. Each time a user hovers over an image s/he will have an option to share which will increase the number of shares.

Tweet – Visitors can use the Tweet button to share your content on twitter without leaving the page. The smart counter alongside the button updates for every page to show how many times that content has been tweeted.

facebook – The facebook “Like” button makes it possible for your visitors to share your content to all their facebook friends, just as they would on facebook.com. Each visitor will be shown a personalized button that highlights friends who also “Like” the page they are viewing as well as the total count of “Likes”.

New Apps

In addition to the above apps, these have been added…

My Bookmarks – The new user bookmarks app is dedicated to improving your visitors’ ability to access your content easily and personalize their experience on your blog. Visitors can connect to their network of choice (twitter, Yahoo, MySpace, LinkedIn) and save links to your blog pages, making lists of quick links they can return to at any time. Each time a user saves a bookmark to your blog s/he can choose the bookmark’s name and link as well as easily share it through the network s/he connected with. Users can access these bookmarks from any website that has the Wibiya toolbar installed along with this application.

Google+ – Visitors can +1 your blog posts for other Google+ users. Any visitor who clicks the +1 button is giving your content his/her stamp of approval, making a personal recommendation and making it easier for all his/her friends and contacts to find your blog recommendation when it’s most relevant — in the context of Google search results. Each time a user is searching, they will be able to see their friends and contacts’ recommendations or the aggregate number of +1′s your blog page has received, leading greater masses of traffic to your blog.

Top Blogs – I’m giving this app a test-run to see how well it performs. Top Blogs shows a list of the most visited pages in the KBKc network in real time as well as how many people are viewing said pages at any given moment. This list is displayed in chronological order (page ranking) and it is constantly updated to display real-time stats.
